EBLab participation in the EMBC+ annual spring school at Tjärnö
Release date: 31 Mar 2016
This year, EBLab is once again pleased to contribute to the annual Spring School organized for the master’s students of the EMBC+ program. For the third consecutive year, this event is being held at the Tjärnö marine station (also known as the Sven Lovén Centre for Marine Sciences) on the western coast of Sweden.
Not only is the area an idyllic place for working, the marine station is superbly well-organized for hosting large groups (we are often more than 50 students and teachers in total!). There are spacious classrooms, sorting tables, both indoor and outdoor research aquaria, boats, an excellent dining hall, meeting rooms, and of course a fast internet connection.
EBLab members will offer several short presentations on topics in scientific communication and ecology, as well as mentoring student groups as they develop their scientific projects. The EMBC+ Spring School is the ultimate ‘flipped’ classroom teaching experience, where the students lead and the teachers follow behind. We are looking forward to this year’s discoveries!
