FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
"One year anniversary for an innovative collaboration between environmental consulting and theoretical ecology group reviewing environmental impact assessment (EIA) methods and analyses"
In early 2014, a small group of consultants and researchers conducted a workshop in the Birkenhead, UK offices of LimOce Environmental Consulting Ltd to discuss how to build a quantitative ecosystem- based approach to assess environmental impacts in aquatic environments. Several complementary areas of expertise (navigation, instrumentation and data acquisition, data mining and analysis, impact assessment policy, and ecological theory) were brought together to discuss ways in which this goal could be achieved. The workshop produced the groundwork to revise the conceptual basis that impact studies are based on.
We plan to pursue these themes through joint research projects.
